Through his early passion for dancing, Jean-Louis Scherrer came into contact with all kinds of costumes, and this in effect became the stepping stone for his future career as a women's fashion designer. He completed his apprenticeship in the house of Christian Dior with the young Yves Saint-Laurent. After Dior handed over his fashion empire to Saint-Laurent, Scherrer founded his own successful fashion house specializing in Haute-Couture and quickly gained notoriety for his classic, sophisticated and sensual designs, and his list of clients read like the who’s who of the wealthiest women in the world.
Scherrer was never a designer who created trends, but rather reinterpreted existing trends and was famous for giving them his own, luxurious signature. Scherrer was also always a great lover of perfumes, and his wish was to create fragrances that would mirror his fashion collections and emphasize the sensual and classic style of sophisticated women. In 1986 this dream became reality with the first fragrance of his brand, Jean-Louis Scherrer, which even today beguiles with its feminine simplicity. His collection of fragrances has grown over the years and each one is marked by the sensual elegance of the house of Scherrer.
