About the Designer
Robert Elder’s journey into the world of scents is inspired by his Mother, an artist, and his Grandmother. Robert’s mother introduced him to a world not viewed by the common eye. He learned to look for the beauty and connections to experiences and events most would not notice. His Mother’s artistic creations nurtured all the aspects of the beauty that surrounds us using sight, touch, sound, and smell in a journey of becoming part of the art instead of observing it.
Robert’s fondest memory of his journey from a young boy to a man is the smell of his Grandmother’s favorite perfume, Chanel No.5. The scent recalls joyful memories of unconditional love, understanding, compassion, security, and belonging.
Robert began to explore the world of art in high school and then onto the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he learned to take his artistic vision to a physical creation. He also attended the Point Park University School of Business Accounting & Computer Science which houses the finest conservatory school of performing arts in the U.S. His appreciation of art was nurtured and influenced by his teachers and fellow students. From there, he started his journey into the world of scents.
Robert’s journey in creating the perfect scent was a long process, as nothing short of perfection would do. Anything worth possessing is worth the time.
When you wear a Sebastiane scent, it is the intent of the designer to transport you to a world of memories and the desire of a journey to another place or culture. The scents are designed to create a different experience for each person; it is your own personal journey to the world that engulfs you.
