London-based perfume house Ormonde Jayne creates strong and sensual scents, none the more so than Ambre Royal. Blending together traditional English roses with warmer bergamot and patchouli the aroma deepens without becoming over powering. Completed by heart notes of amber, the right balance is born, resulting in an almost hypnotic fragrance.

Ambre Royal is a resinous floral oriental whose golden shimmer is amplified in the base by the hot, salty rasp of ambergris. To wear it is to feel dipped in liquid gold and then rolled in fleurs de sel, the floral salt winnowed from the marshes of Brittany. Sappy green herbs and juicy orange announce the house signature, their peppery brightness sending a shaft of light through the structure, cheerfully prepping the way for the resins and flowers that follow.

I received a free sample of this perfume. Thank you Parfumaria :). It's a complex perfume and smells expensive. I smell a deep woody and flowery concoction, added by some green notes. Definitely unisex.
