Nobile 1942 Levante

The inspiration behind Levante, Nobile 1942’s new fragrance, is of course the Levant, the historical term used to describe the stretch of land in the Eastern Mediterranean covering everything from Greece to Lebanon and Syria. The word Levant derives from the old Italian word, Levante, which means “rising” – and specifically the rising of the sun in the East. Levante, the fragrance, is every bit as bright and sparkling as its inspiration.

In Levante, the salty breeze of the sea rises to meet the sensuous siren call of the white flowers that tumble over every wall and creep up every pergola. The bright brine of the marine notes sluices the structure of the perfume with freshness, infusing the creamy white jasmine with enough air to breathe. It sparkles like a pavé diamond in the sunlight. A surprising finish – sweet vanilla and caramel providing a light touch of gourmandise over a soft, woody base. This is a calming, grounding perfume, one to wear when you want to feel the magic of the Levant settle around your shoulders on a warm summer’s evening.

Karamelzachte toffee en zeezout met wat witte bloemen. Dit is geweldig! Het is een zoute gourmande, niet veel daarvan zijn er denk ik. Er zit veel complexiteit en tegenstrijdigheid in, en het werkt! Ook zijn de levensduur en sillage erg goed, net als je denkt dat het weg is, is het dat niet. Vooral op kleding gaat het voor altijd mee. Geweldige geur! 94
