Building on Miller Harris’ creative exploration of literary inspiration, which started with Scherzo & Tender in 2018, our new Eau de Parfum is inspired by the World of Brighton Rock. 

Violet Ida takes Ida Arnold as it’s muse, the big hearted heroine of Graham Greene’s Brighton Rock who wears violets in her hair. Ida represents glamour, goodness, tenacity and morality. This is a fragrant exercise exploring the vivacity of contrast through scent.

The fragrance evokes the highest heels, perhaps too much lipstick and a saucy weekend away on the coast, the grey sea splashing on a pebbled beach while the arcades buzz and tinkle in the distance and music floats like memories.

The Fragrance
A wistful stroll from the pier to the sea, Violet Ida is a plush and voluptuous cloud of iris, scattered with a hint of sweet violets, as worn in Ida’s hair.
The sparkling top note of bergamot embodies the rise and fall of a foxtrot as it blends with the earthy, mineral facets of carrot seed. In the heart, the luxurious core of iris calls to mind images of make up powder and billowing chiffon - of soft fabrics with a tactile feel, whilst the sweet almond scent of heliotrope brings a touch of confectionary. The base presents a silky trail of vanilla and liquid amber - a glowing embrace that exudes warmth and comfort.

Violet Ida is a kiss at the end of the pier - the scent of make-up and skin, a yearning, nostalgic dream of glamour.
