Isabey - Fleur Nocturne

A Journey to the Land of Confucius

This bestseller from the house of Isabey, presented in a massive amethyst-coloured crystal flacon was designed originally in 1925 by the crystal master craftsman Ludwig Moser in Karlsbad, Bohemia. There are still a few examples left, one at the Museum of perfumery in Grasse, France. The name "Bleu de Chine" comes from motifs that are engraved on it.

When they decided to launch this modern version of the fragrance, it wasn't possible to use the original name as this had, in the meantime, been trademarked by another company. However, the colours and the effect of the reliefs, found in the original version, as suggested by Julien Viard, have been retained using an "evaporation method". Certainly, this touch of modernity on the beautiful smooth flacon will bring younger people to opt for a different kind of perfume, away from the power of marketing companies proposed sales gimmicks.
