Maria Candida Gentile - Barry Lyndon
Barry Lyndon, the character of William Makepeace, interpreted by Ryan O‘Neal in the Stanley Kubrick movie was who Maria had in mind when she created the Barry Lyndon Fragrance.
Images of the young Barry Lyndon out riding with his horse in the early morning mist, along the little paths in the countryside covered with heather flowers and peat. The scent of leather saddle blends with the early morning air. It is a harmony, a vibration which Maria felt when walking in the pristine mountains of the Val d‘Aosta in the Italian Alps.
Maria Candida: "No little man, with some money in his pocket is ever sad" W. M. Thackeray.
"Barry Lyndon travelled to Dublin, leaving his mother, but with the conviction that he would come back one day, his pockets full of gifts and beautiful things for her." (W. M. Thackeray).
"For the Barry Lyndon fragrance, I chose a very special and rare Lavender, the Stoechas Lavender that is only found in the Alp above 2.500 meters. It has always been used as a natural fragrance in mountain homes.
Artemisia herb is part of the formula also known as the „green sorcerer“, loved by Vincent Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Charles Baudelaire and Edgar Allan Poe (to mention a few)."
