Brecourt Paris - Les Éphémères - Poivre Bengale

Rudyard Kipling once said that, "If you haven't seen India, then you don't know what seeing means." It is even truer for the olfactive world.

For this second fragrance in the “Les Éphémères” collection, Emilie Bouge chose the magical world of spices, the journey, the heat, the origin and the richness. Bengal pepper is the first spice that came to Europe in ancient times. More precious than gold, it even replaced the value of currency at one time.

A subtle jewel, pleasant, sweeter than our daily pepper and never used previously in perfumery, enhanced by the presence of nutmeg, clove absolute and ginger. A persistent bite in an exotic air saturated by sandalwood, cashmere wood, leather and ambergris.

A mesmerizing fragrance for ardent fans of a unique perfume.

Les Éphémères Collection
Éphémère: from the Greek epì and Emera, literally: lasting but a day.

The ultimate purpose of the Maîtres Parfumeurs, was the search for new raw materials, to completely enlighten their last creation; alchemist magicians transforming ether into a divine foundation… In contrast, most perfumes are produced nowadays from a standard palette of ingredients which is equally available to everyone.

Each perfume in the "Les Éphémères" collection directs its focus on a rare and precious raw material. Often it involves completely forgotten substances that can only be produced in very small quantities or are too unstable to be noted on the list of popular fragrances.

Whoever manufactures a fragrance under such conditions cannot guarantee that the fine raw material in the center of the composition will be available again in the required quantity or quality in the following year.

No one can predict whether a perfume can ever be reproduced as the perfect equivalent to the "first edition." Therein lies the volatile nature of these creations: they are impermanent, not reproducible, available only for a short time and in limited quantities ... "éphémère". Emilie Bouge, creator and nose of the Brécourt brand.
